Lai Kei Ice Cream is, as the name indicates, an ice cream shop, one of the oldest in Macau. The brand (and shop) was founded in the 50s by Kong Lai-ging. Kong started in this business by selling ice cream and biscuits from a stall of its own in downtown Macau. He then bought a small shop where he sold the ice made by himself as well on a factory nearby.
Having kept its vintage vibe in every aspect—decor, atmosphere, ice cream flavours—this is a perfect place to go for a local experience, especially with friends and family. Kids will love their signature sandwich ice cream, as well as the scoops ones. Between sesame, peanut, coconut (very popular), classic such as vanilla, strawberry and chocolate, or peppermint, pair some of these flavours with a milkshake or an iced drink like their originals: back jelly, red bean, California sunshine, among others.
There’s also their exclusive ice cream flavours, Caribbean Mien and Rainbow Parfait. Lai Kei’s selection of milk-based beverages is also vast and besides mentioned milkshakes, it includes iced Horlick, fruit punch, peppermint punch, etc. Lai Kei has a vintage, yet active vibe, taking people back to Macau’s heydays.
